The Chinese Culture Club on the campus of Grove City College invited Sensei David Hogsette to give a martial arts demonstration during its Chinese New Year celebration. In this video, Sensei Hogsette briefly discusses how Chinese kung fu influenced Okinawan karate, explains the purpose and function of kata as recording combative principles of the master who created the kata, performs kata Gojushiho, and then demonstrates a few self-defense applications and combative principles found in the kata.
